Operation TMC is a collaboration between BMKG and BRIN, BNPB, Indonesian Air Force, DKI Provincial Government, West Java Provincial Government and Ministry of Transport. This TMC has been implemented since 29 December 2022. At least 30 tons of NaCL or salt were seeded using two Cassa 212 and CN 295 aircraft from Abduulrachman Saleh Air Squadron 4 Air Base, Malang.
“Alhamdulillah, The TMC operation which took place to anticipate extreme weather in Jabodetabek and West Java areas went according to plan and can be said to be successful so extreme rain did not occur in Jabodetabek area on December 30, because the intensity was reduced,” Dwikorita said.
Tens of tons of salt sprinkled on the waters of the Sunda Strait, adjacent to Mount Krakatau with an altitude of 10 thousand feet. The clouds stopped early so they would not turn into rain in Jabodetabek and West Java settlements.
