DONETSK – The Kiev-appointed mayor of Sviatogorsk, Vladimir Bandura, transferred his allegiance to the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) after the city was liberated from Ukrainian forces.

The official appeared in a video last week accusing the Kiev military of killing Orthodox Christian monks and burning a monastery.

In a Telegram post on Monday (13/6/2022), DPR President Denis Pushilin revealed he had been in “long contact” with Bandura.
