Bloom will not take part in the MTB World Championship / Day due to health problems

Last week, Bloom participated in two stages of the MTB XCO Cross Country Cup in the Czech Republic. In both stages, Cēsis started in spite of health problems. Although there was reason to expect that the situation could improve after the first phase, this did not happen. Even in the second stage, Bloom was far from his ability, finishing only at the end of the first century.

Immediately after the Czech stages, the athlete had a plan with his team CST PostNL Bafang go to Austria to start the World Cup in Leogang. The Latvian champion had a planned start in both MTB XCO Ebike competitions, as well as in the classic XCO cross.

The health situation did not improve, which prevented Bloom from going to Austria. The athlete is now fully focused on health.

At the moment, it is not clear about his chances to successfully start in the European Championship of MTB XCO Cross, which should take place from October 15 to 18 in Switzerland.

About 600 Covid-19 tests were performed last Sunday before going to the championship, and according to the International Cycling Union (UCI), three people tested positive. For this reason, one athlete from Ukraine and the United States will not be able to participate in the World Championship.
