Bloody Myanmar; 18 killed in police firing: UN condemns Myanmar

Police in riot gear stormed a rally in Yangon on Friday, killing at least 18 people. More than 30 people were injured. The incident was released by the UN Human Rights Office. The shootings took place in Yangon, Dave, Mandalay, Mike, Bago and Pokoku.

Grenades and tear gas were also used against the protesters. The UN strongly condemned the incident. Spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani called for an immediate end to the violence against peaceful protesters.
