Ratingen. Without blood donors, nothing works in primary medical care, because blood is needed every day to be able to treat patients in therapy and in the emergency room.

DRK Blood Donation Service West alone relies on approximately 3,000-3,500 blood donors each working day to supply hundreds of hospitals with blood preparations.

“With their selfless actions, blood donors prove to be important role models for society,” said the Red Cross. However: each year, DRK’s blood donation services lose thousands of blood donors for a wide variety of reasons – the active lifeguard base is disappearing so rapidly that there are major problems in having enough blood supplies to all blood groups at any time of the year.

That is why a blood donor recruitment campaign is currently underway. Convinced blood donors are the most convincing. If you bring someone who is trying blood donation for the first time, you will receive an umbrella directly to the appointment, including:

in Monheim on the Rhine-Baumberg
Thursday 6 October
from 16:00 to 20:00
Bürgerhaus, Humboldtstr. 8th

in Hilden
Friday 7 October
from 16:00 to 19:30
Marie Colinet Secondary School, Am Holterhöfchen 20

The DRK blood donation service asks all those who wish to donate blood to contact us in advance reserve a time for blood donation. This means that anyone can donate blood without waiting and in compliance with the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
