The Ivorian Society for Construction and Real Estate Management (Sicogi) has decided to take an active part in the national fight against the blood shortage, thus materializing its social responsibility (CSR) and its civic commitment.
Indeed, the agents of the State Company mobilized massively, on December 23, in the premises of the headquarters at the Mirador building in Adjamé, to donate their blood. Teams from the National Blood Transfusion Center (CNTS) were also mobilized to technically supervise the operation.
The Deputy Director General of Sicogi, Yacouba Sérifou, who represented the Director General, Bouaké Fofana, welcomed this great mobilization of his staff. “We warmly welcome this act of generosity on the part of the staff, headed by the human resources department. This is the response that Sicogi would like to give to the call for solidarity launched by the health authorities of our country, to signify the strong need for blood for the benefit of the Ivorian populations. We are a company that has a social mandate, even if it is a question of housing Ivorians, but we believe that we can and must also provide our support for health, ”he declared.
The Sicogi, which made its comeback on the real estate market after years of lethargy, therefore wants to provide support to the health sector, especially for emergencies. According to the head of the company’s social service, Fatoumata Touré, the operation targets several dozen bags of blood. And it should be held every year, as it used to be.
According to its officials, the Cnts, with its current stock of blood products, can no longer cover all of the national demand. Worse, this coverage rate has deteriorated sharply since the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic. We are talking about a drop of more than 80% from 300 bags to 50 bags of blood collected per day.
