Real Madrid fish for superstar Kylian Mbappe. To make the deal palatable for PSG, Los Blancos are offering a young star.
Kylian Mbappe has been at the top of Real Madrid’s shopping list for quite some time. The Galactic want another superstar two and a half years after saying goodbye to Cristiano Ronaldo (Juve). The future should belong to the young French.
The problem: Paris-Saint Germain paid a € 145 million transfer fee to AS Monaco two years ago. Mbappe is the team’s big star alongside Neymar Jr. So the Parisians won’t give the 22-year-olds cheap. Not least because of the Corona crisis, Real has to start saving money.
The planned solution: In Spain it is reported that PSG are demanding around 150 to 160 million euros for Mbappe. Real wants to push this amount down through an exchange deal. The club is ready to send Vinicius Jr. to Paris. In 2019, the club paid a proud 45 million euros for the Brazilian.
The wing racer was not able to show too big in the Spanish championship. He shines with his speed and technique. But he often makes wrong decisions in the attack, is not well integrated into the game of the Madrilenians and has earned the reputation of the chance death. Mbappe, on the other hand, has 14 goals this season and six assists in Ligue 1.
At the moment, it seems questionable whether PSG could get involved in the deal. But: Mbappe’s contract will expire in the summer of 2022. This means that potential buyers have the leverage of an impending transfer free of charge. Real also plans to replenish the transfer fund for the signing of the French with the sales of Isco, Dani Ceballos, Gareth Bale, Luka Jovic, Marcelo and Brahim Diaz.
So in the summer there could actually be a blockbuster deal.
Not the only one, according to the Spanish press. The “Marca” recently reported that ÖFB star David Alaba will switch to Real after his contract with Bayern ends. He is supposed to replace defense chief Sergio Ramos, whose contract is also ending. Mbappe and Alaba would be a challenge to the competition from Barcelona. The Catalans are also in upheaval, threatening to lose Lionel Messi.
