Although many within the Supervision The community is still reeling from the departure of Game Director Jeff Kaplan last month, the latest developer update has already been released.

It is hosted by Aaron Keller, a founding member of the original Overwatch team and replacement for Jeff, and focuses on “what’s next” for Overwatch 2 and the original release.

As Overwatch approaches its fifth anniversary, the Overwatch development team and Overwatch League teams plan to share a glimpse of the PVP (player versus player) content for the sequel on May 20 in a special live stream. This will include images of some new maps. Please note that it is still in development:

“Now just to set expectations, everything we will show is in development and is still a work in progress.”

This will be followed by a special Reddit AMA on the Overwatch subreddit on May 24, where the team will discuss the last five years of Overwatch development and share more information on Overwatch 2 development.

As previously confirmed, original Overwatch players will have full access to the sequel’s PvP content. Are you looking forward to learning more about the sequel? Leave a comment below.
