Blizzard honors Reckful in World of Warcraft

2nd of July, the gaming community has been shaken by a tragedy. Byron “Reckful” Bernstein, a gamer known for his exploits in the game World of Warcraft, died at the age of 31. Blizzard Entertainment wanted to pay tribute to Reckful in his game by adding a character who bears his name.

It is in the extension Shadowlands of World of Warcraft that players will be able to run into Reckful’s NPC (non-playable character), located in the Cathedral of Light, where several players had gathered to pay homage to Bernstein.

This NPC is a Rogue Trainer, as Reckful was known for his Rogue character. According to GameRant, this isn’t the first NPC that pays homage to Reckful, however. Another character, named Byron Burnside, was added to the game in 2018.

Reckful was very popular on the Twitch streaming platform, but the gamer had participated in tournaments as well, and was previously the best PvP player in WoW in the world.

The beta of Shadowlands is accessible for some players. Otherwise, the expansion should be released later this year, and you too can go pay homage to Reckful at the Cathedral of Light.
