US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed the situation around Ukraine with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The State Department pointed to the risks due to the Russian escalation.

Blinken “pointed to the risks to global security and the economy associated with further Russian aggression against Ukraine, and noted that de-escalation and diplomacy is a responsible way forward,” the report said.
The parties also exchanged views on how to advance joint work after President Joe Biden’s virtual meeting with President Xi Jinping on November 15, 2021, including on strategic risk management, health security and climate change.
