In the second quarter of 2020, users of the Blik mobile payment system completed 97.4 million transactions, while a year earlier it was 50 million. In the entire first half of the year, 175 million transactions were made, while in the previous year it was almost 90 million transactions – announced the Polish Payment Standard, the system operator, in a statement.
PSP reported that at the end of June, Blik was actively used by 5.42 million users, by 67 percent. more than a year earlier.
In the second quarter of 2020, the most transactions were made online – 73 million – or 110 percent. more than a year ago and by 27 percent. more than in the first three months of the year. As reported, online payments account for three-quarters of all transactions.

PSP reported that in the second quarter, users made 10.6 million transfers to Blik’s phone number – an increase of 47 percent. compared to the first three months of the year and nearly 200 percent. more than in the same period last year.
The number of transactions in traditional payment terminals increased by 20 percent. compared to the first quarter – there were 8.4 million of them (68% more year on year).

The average number of transactions per day in the second quarter exceeded one million, and the record-breaking number for the quarter of the day was over one million three hundred (1,327 thousand). The average transaction amount increased compared to the first quarter and amounted to PLN 135 (PLN 5 more than in the previous quarter).
A single ATM withdrawal amounted to an average of PLN 570 (compared to PLN 516 in the first three months of the year), and the total value of all transactions with Blik in April, May and June is over PLN 13 billion – by 28%. more than in the first quarter.
BLIK is a nationwide, universal payment standard. The possibility of using Blik in mobile banking applications is currently over 90 percent. all clients of domestic financial institutions.
