INGLEWOOD, CA – In a promising sign for the Los Angeles Rams‘ offensive depth, rookie running back Blake Corum showcased his potential during Saturday’s preseason matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, scoring two touchdowns and signaling a potential role in supporting star Kyren Williams.

Corum, selected by the Rams in the fifth round (174th overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft out of the University of Michigan, finished with 32 rushing yards on nine carries. His performance comes as the Rams look to manage Williams’ workload after he led the NFL with 316 carries in the 2023 regular season.

Head coach Sean McVay emphasized the importance of getting Corum live game experience, stating, “Just wanted to get him some live action.” mcvay further highlighted Corum’s progress, noting, “Blake’s been awesome. I thought he did some really good stuff…That by no means is anything other than a positive reflection of just some of the work we wanted to get because we anticipate him being a big part of what we’re going to do this year.”

Beyond Corum, the Rams’ running back room also saw strong performances from other contenders. Rookie Jarquez Hunter, a sixth-round pick (205th overall)
