There are 15 cases of kidnapping and intimidation. In 2017, VMC, a former speaker, agriculture minister and prominent political leader in Karaikal, resigned. R. Ezhilarasi is the main accused in the case where Sivakumar was hacked to death after a petrol bomb was hurled at him in broad daylight.

Ezhilarasi, who heads the fake liquor mafia in Karaikal, had announced his political entry last year. But was immediately imprisoned under the Goonda Act. The operation took place at an undisclosed location after his release from prison. BJP state president R Saminathan was summoned to join the party.

With the release of the pictures, there was a controversy. Police have also launched a search for the accused with an arrest warrant. At the same time, the BJP claims that anyone can join the party and that it is not unusual for seven-year-olds to join the party.
