By 3:45 p.m., the virtual currency had risen to $65,490, up nearly 40 percent in one month and climbing more than 450 percent over twelve months.
Since Tuesday, the first publicly traded investment fund that follows the price of the main crypto currency has been traded in New York. With a so-called exchange-traded fund (ETF), investors can profit from appreciations without having to buy the digital currency themselves.
