A survey found that the vast majority of Bitcoin investors, the largest cryptocurrency (cryptocurrency) with the largest market capitalization, are male. The so-called’namcho’ phenomenon was evident, in which more than 4 out of 5 people investing in Bitcoin are male.
According to a foreign press on the 7th (local time), Israeli investment platform Itoro recently released a survey that only 15% of Bitcoin investors are women. It is 5 percentage points higher than a year ago (10%). Despite the surge in bitcoin prices from last year and the number of new investors, the proportion of female investors did not increase significantly.
The same goes for Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency in the market cap. The percentage of women investing in Ethereum was 12%. It was only 1 percentage point higher than a year ago (11%).
However, women outperformed men at the rate of increase. Itoro analyzed that the number of bitcoin investors using the company last year doubled from the previous year and the average age was 35. The number of new female subscribers increased by 366% as of December last year, outpacing men (248%) during the same period.
