Biogas plant fraud? Mannheim determined – District of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald

(sh). The investigations into suspected fraud in the Eschbach biogas plant are still ongoing. But the proceedings against two main suspects have now gone to the public prosecutor’s office for white-collar crime in Mannheim. Investigations have been carried out since February 2020 on suspicion of commercial fraud against a total of four suspects, including a former employee of the biogas plant in the Breisgau industrial park. It is the largest in southern Baden and is operated by the Badenova subsidiary Wärmeplus. Apparently there were irregularities in substrate deliveries. The fact that the proceedings against the two main accused are now running via Mannheim is due to the fact that the Freiburg Regional Court does not have a first-instance commercial criminal chamber. The proceedings against the other two suspects continue in Freiburg.
