Bill Cosby found guilty by jury of abusive teen in 1975 | NOW

A California jury found Tuesday that former actor Bill Cosby sexually assaulted a woman in 1975. That would have happened when she, as a sixteen-year-old girl, accompanied him to the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles. The jury awarded the victim, Judy Huth, $500,000 in damages.

During her courtroom testimony, Huth said that Cosby grabbed her hand and used it to masturbate. Cosby (84) was 37 years old at the time.

Cosby did not appear in person at the trial. He denied the allegation in a video. He said he didn’t remember Huth. And he said the incident could not have happened because he would not have had sexual contact with anyone under the age of 18 at the time.

In March 2022, it was announced that the criminal abuse case against Bill Cosby will not be reopened. The US Supreme Court had rejected a request from the prosecutors to do so. As a result, the former actor and comedian is still at large.

In 2018, Cosby was sentenced to between three and 10 years in prison for drugging and abusing Andrea Constand. However, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that the trial had been unfair.

In addition to Constand, dozens of other women had accused Cosby of sexual abuse. Constand’s case, however, was the only one that was not time-barred. However, statute of limitations did not play a role in Huth’s civil case against Cosby.
