Sotheby’s New York hosted its very first auction of hip-hop souvenirs this week. And that has generated a lot of money. For example, a plastic crown that Notorious BIG wore three days before his death in 1997 in a famous photo went under the hammer for $ 594,750.
The photo was taken by photographer Barron Claiborne, who bought the crown for $ 6. The rapper had signed the crown. Its value was estimated in advance between 200,000 and 300,000 euros.
