The older brother of the Kia K5, known in some markets as the Kia Cadenza, was large-scale restyling even last year. And now this five-meter front-wheel drive sedan has been redesigned. True, the amount of improvements this time is much more modest. But it is significant that after only a year and a half after the change in appearance, the designers proposed an alternative version of the radiator grill: the most expensive versions instead of the “whalebone” now sport an unusual “grill” with cells in the form of birds.
And the main changes in the cabin, on the contrary, relate to the simplest modifications. Now they also have a non-fixed automatic joystick and an electric handbrake, which were previously only possessed by rich cars. There are other changes as well. For example, it became possible to order ten-inch screens for rear passengers, like full-fledged executive cars.
The Kia K7 Premier has got an improved media system with voice control (so you can command climate control, heated / ventilated seats, and even power windows), although the screen is 12.3 inches the same. Finally, the soundproofing of the front wheel arches has been improved, and the rear window has become a little thicker.
Turbodiesel is excluded from the range of engines, but other engines are the same. This is a four-cylinder aspirated 2.5 with combined fuel injection (198 hp), a V6 3.0 GDI unit (266 hp), a V6 3.0 LPI gas engine (235 hp), as well as a hybrid installation as part of an aspirated 2.4 MPI (159 hp) and a 52-horsepower electric motor. All modifications have an eight-speed “automatic”.
In the Korean market, the updated Kia K7 Premier sedans are already available for order. Prices start at $ 23,600 for the gas version and $ 28,700 for the four-cylinder petrol.
