U.S. President-elect Joe Biden announced that he would mobilize the Defense Goods Production Act (DPA) to expand the supply of supplies necessary for vaccination and accelerate the speed of vaccine distribution.

According to CNN and NBC on the 15th (local time), Biden held an online press conference in Wilmington, Delaware, USA, and said, “We are still in a dark winter.” Will achieve,” he said.

Biden said he would use federal funds to set up vaccination centers across the U.S. community and increase the distribution of vaccines to pharmacies.

“We will check whether there are vaccination centers in the communities most affected by the infectious disease, in black and Latin communities, and in rural communities,” said Elect Biden.

According to the Biden Transition Committee, Biden plans to complete vaccinations to teachers, emergency responders, and grocery store employees, including senior citizens aged 65 and over.

Biden also said that more medical staff, including retired medical workers, will be mobilized to expand the vaccination manpower.

In addition, the National Guard is deployed to support vaccinations, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) provides vaccination costs to state and local governments.

Biden is planning to expand supply and maximize vaccination by increasing the production of medical supplies such as syringes required for vaccination by mobilizing the defense material production method.

The Defense Goods Production Act is a law that allows the government to directly control private enterprises to produce necessary supplies in case of a national emergency. Biden’s acquisition committee said it has already secured a list of companies to be mobilized through the Defense Goods Production Act.

The Biden Transition Committee said that former U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) director, Dr. David Kessler, will lead the next government’s vaccine project. He is set to become Chief Advisor of Monseef Slough, who led the’Operation Warp Speed’ in the Trump administration.
