A resident of Biała Podlaska documented everything in pictures. – The problem concerns Ceglana, Grabarska, Łowiecka, Iglasta, Barwinkowa, Sokulska, Jastrzębia, Jaskółcza, Kalinowa and Jarzębinowa streets – lists Wojciech Babicz. These are dirt roads, but in his opinion the streets paved with asphalt are not in the best condition either. “They already have significant losses, and the manholes are collapsed. This is not only inconvenient, but also dangerous, he notes. Therefore, on behalf of the residents, he addressed a petition to officials. – We count on urgent action to repair these roads, so that we can normally get to work, because it happens that some streets are impassable – a resident complains.
Let us remind you that recently the city announced a tender for the construction of Jastrzębia Street in this housing estate. The investment is estimated at PLN 2 million, half of which is co-financing from the Government Road Development Fund.
A few years ago, Mayor Michał Litwiniuk (PO) appointed a team for the construction of roads and pavements, which includes, among others, councillors. Every year he prepares an investment plan. – There are about 39 kilometers of dirt roads in the city, and as part of our plan, we have already paved over 5 km, and that’s 10 streets. Further constructions will be carried out in the winter – announces Maciej Buczyński, Deputy Mayor. – When the surface is frozen or wet, dirt roads cannot be levelled. Work on them is carried out from spring to autumn – emphasizes Buczyński. In his opinion, in the photos of Mr. Wojciech, “stagnant water is visible, precluding any repair work.” – Even in the last days of last week, the snowfall in Biała Podlaska was quite intense. This year, the date of commencement of works, agreed with the contractor, is March 17. We are starting them from Ceglana Street – promises Buczyński.
