Bharat Jodo Yatra suspended; The administration did not ensure adequate security Bharat Jodo Yatra has been temporarily suspended

New Delhi: Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been temporarily suspended. Jodo stopped his journey before entering Kashmir citing insufficient security arrangements.

The Congress leadership pointed out that the CRPF personnel who had provided security at the Banihal Tower were withdrawn from their tour of Jammu in the morning. Then only the security personnel appointed only for Rahul Gandhi continued on the journey.

Following this, a large crowd stormed the Yatra and came near Rahul. With this, the journey was temporarily halted and Rahul was shifted to a bulletproof car. The Congress has decided to resume the journey after ensuring security.

The Congress accused the incident of high security and inaction by the police. AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal said that the government withdrew the CRPF personnel who were providing security without warning.

Meanwhile, National Conference leader and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Ablullah Jodo participated in the yatra. He was part of the padayatra wearing a white T-shirt with Rahul.

Omar Abdullah strongly criticized the central government’s action of not holding elections in Jammu and Kashmir. It has been eight years since the elections were held. This is the first time in history that such an action has been taken. Omar Abdullah also pointed out that the current situation is worse than when the clash took place.
