beware of smartphone chargers!

The smartphone chargers are part of our daily lives, and yet these are not devices to be taken lightly.

In a report to be published this Thursday, January 23, the UFC Que Choisir highlights the dangers associated with the use of certain chargers. The consumer defense association has thus tested around twenty chargers of different brands offered in France, and at least half of which do not currently comply with current safety regulations.

These shippers thus present risks and go against national rules, without the French authorities taking the file seriously and imposing compliance with the manufacturers.

In some cases, smartphone chargers have been the source of fire, electric shock or severe burns.

The use of fast charging modules, which boost the performance of these chargers often make them even more dangerous. But it is especially the low-cost third-party chargers that represent the biggest risks for users with safety standards completely bypassed during the design and manufacturing processes in order to save money.

It is generally recommended not to leave your charger (s) connected to an electrical outlet when not in use, and not to keep your smartphone charged next to you while you sleep. Recommendations very rarely applied by users.
