In connection with the beginning of the winter season and the cessation of active competitive activity of rowing clubs, OP “Gilfond” initiated the annual release of water and the reduction of the level of the Plovdiv rowing channel for the following reasons:
– prevention of accidents in case of falling into water at low temperatures and great depth;
– impossibility to provide rescue activities in the water due to accumulation of ice, freezing of boat engines, etc.;
– carry out repair and restoration activities of the canal structures.
In view of the above, OP “Gilfond” warns citizens to be careful in the water mirror area due to the steep and slippery bank, to follow the signs and to walk only in pedestrian areas, not stepping on the edge of the canal.
