Beware of DBD, Tasikmalaya City Government Eradicates Mosquito Nest

TASIKMALAYA, iNews.id – The City Government (Pemkot) of Tasikmalaya, West Java, is wary of increasing cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). You do this by eradicating mosquito breeding, prevention and handling of dengue cases.

“DHF cases in the City of Tasikmalaya continue to show a significant increase, so all must be vigilant,” Head of the Tasikmalaya City Health Office Uus Supangat told reporters in Tasikmalaya on Sunday (28/6/2020).

He said, the City Government of Tasikmalaya had made various prevention efforts, including dealing with residents infected with dengue outbreaks by providing health services.

During this time, he continued, cases of dengue fever in Tasikmalaya City have increased. Until June 2020 there were 689 dengue cases or showed an increase compared to 2019 data, recorded 672 cases.

It was even reported that dengue cases this year had caused 16 deaths which were confirmed to be positive for dengue.

“There were 17 deaths reported, but 16 people confirmed positive for DHF. Hopefully one patient is not due to DHF, so the data remains 16,” he said.

Related to being determined as an extraordinary event (KLB), said Uus, the Tasikmalaya City Government could not be carried out because there had to be a special study and the authority of the regional head.

“Standby 1 status was set, yesterday the mayor said that this was pre-KLB,” he said.

Eradication of mosquito nests, he said, can be done independently by draining, closing, and burying all the places that have potential as mosquito nests.

“We hope that the public will carry out PSN well, don’t just rely on fogging,” he said.
