“Obstacle” added, during a telephone interview with “Extra News” today, Wednesday, that some new symptoms of the Corona virus, such as itchy skin and inflammation of the eyes, were recorded, pointing out that the severity of the symptoms varies from one patient to another due to several factors, including; The patient’s immune system, the patient’s history with some other illnesses, chronic diseases, and others.
He stressed that smokers suffer from chronic bronchitis and suffer from respiratory problems, which makes them more likely to need oxygen and intensive care when they are infected with the Corona virus.
The head of the departments of Internal Medicine and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, indicated that the third phase of clinical trials includes large numbers of volunteers, and Egypt is participating in them.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced that 98 recoverers of the Coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total of those recovering from the virus to 102,816 cases until today.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, stated that 392 new cases that proved positive for laboratory analyzes of the virus were recorded, as part of the necessary surveillance, investigation and examination procedures that the ministry conducts according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, pointing to the death of 16 new cases.
Mujahid said that according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until Tuesday, is 116,303 cases, including 102,816 cases that have been cured, and 6666 deaths.
