Ghezzal and Welinton suffered damage to their hamstrings during the competition match against Adana Demirspor (3-3). Besiktas does not clarify how long the duo will be out of circulation. In any case, it is highly questionable whether Ghezzal and Welinton can travel to Amsterdam for next week’s duel with Ajax. It usually takes several weeks to recover from a hamstring injury.
Due to the injuries of Ghezzal and Souza, the infirmary of Besiktas is overcrowded. Michy Batshuayi, Alex Teixeira, Domagoj Vida, Necip Uysal, Mehmet Topal and Georges-Kévin N’Koudou are already on the injury list. There is therefore a good chance that Besiktas will have to play against Ajax with a battered team.
The Champions League meeting between the team from Amsterdam and the Turkish superpower is scheduled for next Tuesday. In the Johan Cruijff Arena the kick-off will start at 6.45 pm. Ajax is currently first in Group C, while Besiktas is number three.
