KOMPAS.com- A High School student Multazam (18) died after falling and slipping on his way to the top Pyramid Mountain, Sunday (9/8/2020) morning.
Late in the afternoon, Multazam was found lifeless with his face down.
Apparently not only Multazam, another climber had a similar incident a year ago.
The climber who was declared missing and found dead in the ravine of Mount Pyramid was named Thoriq Rizki Maulidan.

Thoriq did not return …
He climbed with three of his colleagues, Rizki, Syafril and Pungki Pranata.
On Mount Pyramid, three climbers climbed to see the sunset.
Meanwhile, one of them, Syafril, chose to quit because he was tired and waited at the three colleagues below.
The three climbers then reached the top and decided to go down in the afternoon.
At that time, Thoriq walked at the front. Due to the thick fog, two of Thoriq’s colleagues could not see it clearly.
When the two colleagues arrived at the bottom, Thoriq never returned. The incident was then reported to local residents.
Thoriq was declared missing since Tuesday (25/6/2019).

Found in a 400 meter ravine
Receiving the report, the joint SAR team searched for Thoriq’s whereabouts.
Thoriq’s body was found on Friday (5/7/2019) afternoon.
His body was evacuated by a joint SAR team from a 400 meter deep ravine on Mount Pyramid.
The police confirmed that the body was Thoriq.
“After we did the autopsy, there was also a family party, the body was Thoriq,” said Deputy Chief of Police Bondowoso Kompol David Subagio, Saturday (7/6/2019).
The body was then handed over to the family for burial.

Suspected of slipping
Illustration-Kasat Reskrim Bondowoso Police AKP Jamal explained that Thoriq allegedly died after slipping from a height.
He died from a collision when he fell in a ravine 400 meters deep.
“It is possible because of the collision. During the autopsy yesterday, the victim’s body had bruises on the hands and face,” said Jamal.
“From the doctor’s analysis yesterday, the wound was due to collisions in several parts of his body,” he continued.
Thoriq was also buried in Nyamplungan Hamlet, Wonokalang Village, Wonoayu District, Sidoarjo.

A year later, Multazam slipped
After the Thoriq incident, about a year later a teenage climber named Multazam also died on Mount Pyramid.
The 18-year-old initially climbed with four friends, Saturday (8/9/2020).
Three of them, including Multazam, then climbed to the top to take pictures.
When descending from the top of the Pyramid, Multazam slipped around 08.00 WIB.
It also fell to the north bank.

Found dead
Mountain Climber Illustration.-The process of searching and evacuating Thoriq’s body involved various parties, such as the police, TNI, BPBD and local residents.
Multazam was found at around 14:45 WIB, face down.
The difficulty of the terrain made the evacuation of Thoriq’s body lasted until evening.
“The route is very extreme, the evacuation team passes below,” said Prahista Dian, Coordinator of the SAR Post, Basarnas Jember.
“Between departure and return is not the same, go down down through the river, do not go up again,” he continued.
Multazam’s body was evacuated and taken to hospital.
