It was a surprising night’s action. The operators of the “Kapitel Bollwerk” club in Bern announced on Friday that the operation would remain open despite a coronavirus case. In the early Sunday, they reported on Facebook that, to further their own “dismay”, they had “again” to pass on contact details of club visitors to the authorities after another infection. Now the club is tight.

A person who had visited the club last weekend had already tested positive for the corona virus on Friday. On Saturday evening, it turned out that two other people tested positive for Covid-19 lung disease. The cantonal doctor ordered the Bern club to be closed in order to interrupt the transmission chains.

Contact tracer in action
One of the two new people was in the club last Thursday. She had previously shown symptoms, so at that point she was already contagious. The contact tracers had already received the list of around 140 people who had stayed in the club on Thursday. The people on the contact list were immediately notified in writing at night. They would also be contacted by phone on Sunday.
