The Bernese also want to start the big easing because there was a “surprisingly high no-share in the vote on the Covid-19 law”. According to the Bernese government council, this shows that the population is “quite critical” of the Covid measures. Therefore, not only the mask requirement should then fall, but also the certificate requirement. This will then no longer be necessary domestically, write the Bernese authorities.
“Should overloads in the health system be foreseeable from October due to the appearance of new, immune-evasive variants, the use of the certificate and other measures can be decided again at any time,” says the message.
