Berlin. On Wednesday, up to 250 people are expected to take to the streets for the Berlin singer and entertainer Frank Zander in Charlottenburg. As the Berliner Morgenpost found out, a private person has registered an event with the police under the motto “Demonstration for Frank Zander”.

The background to the protest is probably the smoldering dispute between Frank Zander and his landlord from Munich. The singer and his wife Evelyn Zander received the notice from the new owner of their apartment building on October 30th. They should have vacated their apartment by next Friday. Zander’s lawyer has appealed against this.

Neighbor from the Charlottenburger Kiez registers a demo

“We didn’t know anything about this demonstration, and I also don’t know who registered it,” said Evelyn Zander of the morning post. “I can only imagine that it was a neighbor from our Charlottenburger Kiez.” Evelyn Zander, just called Evy by her husband, said that she has lived in the old building on Witzlebenstrasse and Kantstrasse for 60 years, her husband since 53 Years. He didn’t know anything about the planned demonstration either.

“I’m very happy about so much sympathy and I believe that half of Berlin is behind me on this,” he said. “If I had known, I would be there. But on Friday I’m on the road for filming with ZDF at Berlin Airports, including the former Tempelhof Airport. “

“We had to clear the floor in a hurry

The presenter, singer, painter and actor has had a long dispute over construction noise with his Munich landlord. The Zanders feel bullied by the new homeowner. Zander had also rented the attic above his apartment for almost four decades. “Frank had his stage system and his studio there,” said Evelyn Zander. “The contract was terminated and we had to clear the floor in a hurry.” An attic apartment is now being built there. “At exactly 7 o’clock we are woken up by the construction noise. When it got particularly bad with the noise and dirt, we moved to the Hotel Estrel in Neukölln for ten days. ”In the Estrel, Zander has been hosting his roast goose dinner for up to 3000 homeless people every year before Christmas since 1995.

The demonstration begins at 10 a.m. at the Charlottenburg S-Bahn station

The termination without notice apparently came about when Zander let himself be carried away in a “Bild Live” broadcast to a swear phrase about his landlord from Munich. Now this has sent him the termination without notice.

The demonstration for Frank Zander begins on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Charlottenburg S-Bahn station. The meeting point is the Stuttgarter Platz in front of the station building. From there, the demonstrators want to move over Lewishamstrasse and Kaiser-Friedrich-Strasse to Luisenplatz and then over Otto-Suhr-Allee to the Charlottenburg town hall.
