Berlin is a village in Sangamon County, Illinois, United States. According to the 2010 Census, the village, which is part of the Springfield, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area, has 180 residents. Colloquially it is also called “Old Berlin” (“Alt-Berlin”), as the larger village of New Berlin (“Neu-Berlin”) is just over 2 kilometers south.
Berlin lies at an altitude of 194 m. The area of Berlin includes a total of 2.59 km² of land[1].
