Green light from the government for the “loss of earnings compensation” proposed by the CPME. According to information from BFM Business, this aid, which may go up to 1,250 euros (net of charges and taxes), will be paid to the self-employed by the Council for Social Protection of the Self-Employed, chaired by the CPME.
Concretely, it involves drawing on the complementary retirement funds of the self-employed, who have a surplus of around 17 billion euros. The amount paid may therefore not exceed the amount of contributions to the complementary retirement of the self-employed (formerly RCI).
Only conditions to benefit from it: to have been in activity on March 15, 2020 and to have been registered before January 1, 2019. And to receive it, no procedure to perform since the aid will be automatically paid by Urssaf without any request is not necessary.
No impact on public finances
It will also be cumulative with the help of 1500 euros paid by the solidarity fund, except that this time, it will go directly into the pocket of the business owner and not in his business. Finally, the measure will have no impact on public finances.
The proposal was made, on BFM Business, by the president of the CPME François Asselin, last week. “So it is not a question of emptying these boxes, we will need them for tomorrow” he emphasized then. “Nevertheless, we have a possibility at these funds to give (…) a little remuneration which will arrive directly in the pocket of the self-employed.” And to underline then: “We can estimate that we would arrive globally of the order of 6 or 7% of the equivalent of an annual remuneration. So it is a small month of wages”.
