Benfica will meet, this Monday, the opponent in the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
The draw is scheduled for 11 am, and the lot of possible opponents is defined, albeit in a conditional manner, as they may be dependent on duels in the second qualifying round, yet to be played.
In any case, we remember the possible opponents of Jorge Jesus’ team, which has the status of seed:
– Spartak of Moscow
– winner of the PSV-Galatasaray game
– winner of the Rapid-Sparta game
It should be noted that Paços de Ferreira and Santa Clara will also be drawn on this Monday, but for the third qualifying round of the new UEFA Conference League, with the Azorean team still having to pass the second qualifying round, against the Shkupi from Northern Macedonia.
As for the third qualifying round, the list of possible opponents for the Portuguese representatives is much wider, but it will be reduced: UEFA will form six groups of eight teams and a group of six teams, to expedite the draw. This distribution will be revealed before the draw itself, and then a “key” will be drawn which will apply to all groups, thus defining the duels.
This means that, before the start of the draw, scheduled for 13 hours, the pool of possible opponents will be reduced.
