After Sporting accused Benfica of delay in making tickets available for the Friday derby counting for the 13th round of the League, the red club guaranteed that it did so “on time”.
“Sport Lisboa e Benfica clarifies that it has made available to Sporting Clube de Portugal in good time the tickets that, according to the regulations, must be delivered to the opposing club”, can be read in a statement published by Benfica this Tuesday night.
It is recalled that Sporting denounced having received the tickets requested only this Monday, considering that they should have been delivered, in light of the competition regulations, 12 days before the date of the game.
“The delay that Sporting Clube de Portugal alludes to was exclusively due to technical procedures related to the ticketing system and platform used by it in its endorsement to Leo supporters”, point out the incarnates, who also refer to the invitations to which the lions are entitled to be made available when ‘the recipients of the same are identified’.
It should be noted that Sporting considered that one of Benfica’s requirements – to obtain the identification of each fan holding a ticket – is not only behind the delay, but also violates the data protection law. Clube da Luz refers that this is a condition that applies to visiting fans and to the team itself. «These accesses were made available in exactly the same legal conditions offered to all opponents who came to play in Luz this season, as well as to Benfica supporters. Namely, requiring the identification of whoever acquires that same ticket, so that, in strict compliance with the security rules in defense of the show and the audience present, each place in the Stadium corresponds to a name and a citizen number”, he clarifies .
