BEM Nusantara Dimas Urges Indonesian Student Party to Disband

Jakarta

WELL Nusantara strongly condemned the formation of the Indonesian Student Party. BEM Nusantara assessed that the party acting on behalf of the students was detrimental to all Indonesian students.

“We from BEM Nusantara deeply regret and strongly condemn the emergence of a party that acts in the name and uses the word student in the name of the party,” said BEM Nusantara Central Secretary Ridho Alamsyah, the stronghold of the general chairman of Dimas Prayoga, to detik.comFriday (22/4/2022).

“This is a claim that is very detrimental to all Indonesian students,” he continued.

Ridho assessed that the formation of a party that used the names of students was an attempt to undermine the critical voice of students. He suspects that there is a mastermind among the political elite and cukong who are the party’s fund donors.

“This is a very structured effort to suppress and silence students’ critical voices,” said the student at the Faculty of Law, Muslim University Nursantara Medan.

“We also strongly suspect that there is an intellectual mastermind and big dealer from the political oligarchic elite who financed the emergence of this party,” he added.

He then invited all students throughout Indonesia to participate in rejecting the Indonesian Student Party. He emphasized that the party did not represent students who actually played a role as supervisors of power.

“We invite all fellow students throughout Indonesia to participate in rejecting the existence of the Indonesian Student Party. Once again we emphasize that this party does not represent all Indonesian students who have always been agen of control of every policy issued by the government. And we from BEM Nusantara have absolutely no involvement in the party,” he said.

In their statement on the position of BEM Nusantara, the Dimas camp, they asked the Indonesian Student Party to disband. According to him, students are fighting for the people.

“So we hereby condemn the Indonesian Student Party and ask the party to disband itself in Indonesia’s democratic life,” he said.

DPR Leader Says Indonesian Student Party Has Been Formed

The name of the Indonesian Student Party emerged after Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, revealed that the party had officially received a decree (SK) from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenhumkam).

“A new party has been born, there is the Labor Party. Then there is the Indonesian Student Party. It is legal in the Department of Law and Human Rights,” Dasco said during an audience with representatives of the mass demonstrations at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (21/4). ).

Dasco invites the party, which has just received the Decree of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, to compete in the 2024 simultaneous general election contestation. Dasco hopes that they can fight for the rights of the people together with the party that has an office in Senayan.

“Well, we welcome you. Let’s then compete, find a seat in the DPR that together can fight for your rights with us,” he said.

“The Indonesian Student Party, I have checked, it is true that it has passed the Kumham (Kemenkumham), it’s just a matter of verification for the election. With so many students, they should be able to jointly win seats in the DPR to fight for student aspirations,” added Dasco.
