Belobradova for closing schools: I apologize to all affected families, I feel it as a personal failure | Politics News from Bulgaria and the World

“I apologize to all the families affected, I feel it is a personal failure.”

This was written by the MP from Democratic Bulgaria Elisaveta Belobradova on the occasion of the transition to online learning of older students.

We publish Belobradova’s address without editorial intervention:

Two of my children are moving to online education today.

Despite the assurances of the Ministry of Health from the previous month that THIS time the schools will close last, once again fifth-graders, sixth-graders, eighth-graders, ninth-graders, tenth-graders, eleventh-graders go online.

Once again, they are the only ones, I emphasize the only ones who stay at home one hundred percent, while restaurants, bars are open, malls are open and I personally attended at least 3 meetings last week, in which we were officially, protocolically and institutionally crowded 50 people in a room for 10.

And since among the MPs, we have advocates for freedom and independence from the yoke of the pandemic, some of them are always without masks. No one is sanctioning them, but our children are home again.

Otherwise, I was very well answered to the question how we got there again. It was a decision at the local level.

One thing I will remember is the pandemic. With the inability of our state to create conditions for children to attend school as an absolute priority over any commercial activity.

I apologize to all affected families, I feel it as a personal failure. I hope it’s only five days. I hope that these are the last five days in which we are forever separated not only from the pandemic situation, but also from the ubiquitous philosophy constantly demonstrated in recent years that if we have to choose who to sacrifice, we always choose children first. do not vote.

I didn’t believe we would hit rock bottom like that. That I will be able to take the children to a restaurant, but not to school
