Beijing Olympics – city residents banned from helping cars in case of an accident

The Beijing City Traffic Management Bureau said residents who were involved in an accident with one of the vehicles carrying athletes, coaches and officials should not ask drivers and passengers to get out, but wait for “professionals” to arrive at the scene.

“To effectively prevent pandemic risks, overseas personnel associated with the Olympic Games and related internal security personnel will be under a full process, completely closed, closed loop point control,” local police said.

Local authorities also urged residents to give way to cars with Olympic logos and keep their distance in the event of a traffic accident.
