Before Nancy Crampton Brophy, these murderous authors betrayed by their writings

He was a news reporter. Vlado Taneski was arrested at the end of June 2018 on suspicion of abducting, raping, mutilating and

killed four women in the city of Kicévo (North Macedonia), between 2003 and 2008. Imprisoned in the process, he finally committed suicide during his first days of imprisonment in Tetevo (40 km west of Skopje) . “He committed suicide by plunging his head into a bucket of water. He ended up like in a horror movie”said a local police spokesman at the time. Before ending his life, the suspect “neither confessed nor denied, showing composure during interrogations”he added.

According to Macedonian justice, the seasoned journalist – also known as the monster of Kicévo – had written articles on murders that he himself had committed. “Icing” on this macabre cake, he went so far as to solicit testimonies from relatives of his victims. “He came to ask me for a photo of my sister without any shame. This man is despicable”lamented Cvetanka, in the columns of the Parisian.

The serial killer’s deception finally came to light when law enforcement noticed that the reports included details that had not been officially revealed. DNA fingerprints of the killer were also found on his victims. Using a tragically tried and tested modus operandi, he identified and then executed targets with a similar profile. The different women targeted thus had in common to be alone, with an age, an education and a professional past relatively similar to those of the mother of the murderer.
