Ciudad Juárez.- When carrying out an analysis of the aspects that determine the condition of the health contingency due to COVID-19 in the state of Chihuahua, it was determined to extend the hours of the sale of alcoholic beverages in closed containers, from 9:00 to 8:00 p.m., it was reported through a press release.
The General Secretariat of the Government of the State of Chihuahua published an Agreement in the Official State Newspaper (POE), which establishes that in view of the evolution of the pandemic, action is taken in accordance with the gradual measures, imposed by the health authorities that this week decided to change to the Chihuahua Region from orange to yellow traffic light.
Governor Javier Corral shared the new schedule in today’s edition of the Chihuahua Adelante Program.
In this regard, the schedule for the sale of alcoholic beverages was adjusted, thus allowing two additional hours, in relation to previous agreements on the matter, effective as of this Wednesday, September 30 and will remain until Thursday, December 31, 2020, it was indicated.
It is also specified that such measure may be modified considering the evolution of the health contingency due to COVID-19, to privilege the welfare of the population at all times.
Therefore, supermarkets, grocery stores and convenience stores may extend the period for the sale of these products until 8:00 p.m.
In the case of boutiques, warehouses and liquor stores, when focusing their commercial activity on the sale of closed bottles, they must close at 8:00 p.m.
Municipal authorities and the General Secretariat of Government throughout the state territory will be in charge of ensuring that these determinations are complied with.
Its non-compliance will be sanctioned with the temporary or definitive closure of the establishment, the revocation of the license or the corresponding permit, it is noted.
