Becomes new sports manager in Nent: – A fantastic opportunity

Kristian Oma is employed as Nordic Entertainment Group’s (Nent) new sports manager in Norway. He will report to NENT Group’s Nordic Sports Manager Kim Mikkelsen, and will be in place for her new job by October 1st.

– It’s a fantastic opportunity, simply. Viaplay and NENT Group’s offerings in Norway are already strong and will only improve in the years ahead, says Oma.

Grandma comes from the role of editorial director at Monday Sport and sports anchor for Eurosport. Prior to that, he worked twelve years as a sports reporter on TV 2.

– Do you think your journalistic experience as a reporter, anchor and editor will be a great strength now that you become a sports director?

– I hope that I will have been through variants of all that I am going through the next few years through the jobs and responsibilities I have had. If you get such an opportunity like this, you owe it to yourself to just take it, says Oma.

Must strengthen the sports department
In his new position, Oma will work to strengthen the Norwegian sports department, which will sit on the Premier League rights for six years from 2022, as well as the Bundesliga to 2025 and a selection of winter sports such as the World Cup in alpine, cross-country, ski jump and combined from 2021 .

– We have, and will get some of the most sought-after rights for Norwegian viewers such as the Premier League, handball championships, winter sports and German football, to name a few. I look forward to being part of a fantastic journey into the world of sports for the NENT Group, says Oma.

– What are you most looking forward to producing, skiing, skating or Premier League?

– When it comes to sports, I’m a classic omnivorous type. I love the energy that lies in covering sports performance and communicating it. Whether it is a sprint duel at a ski stadium or a last-minute score at Old Trafford gives the same kind of kick, and that is the energy we are so lucky to be allowed to convey, Oma responds.

– Brilliantly happy
Nordic Sports Manager Kim Mikkelsen is sure that Oma is the right person to lead their Norwegian sports venture.

– I am extremely pleased to welcome Kristian Oma as a new sports manager in Norway. Kristian has long experience in the manufacturing industry and I am sure he is the right person to take on the big task that comes to our Norwegian sports venture, says Mikkelsen.

– Together with NENT Group’s sports departments in Denmark, Sweden and Finland, we will deliver sports broadcasts that are not left for anyone, Mikkelsen continues.

The Nent group’s interim sports manager in Norway, Cecilia Gave, will continue in the company in another role that Nent says they will communicate at a later date.
