Become a Manchester United hero, Cristiano Ronaldo annoys Atalanta Ultras

Cristiano Ronaldo double saves Manchester United from defeat while being held to a 2-2 draw at Atalanta in the European Champions League, Wednesday (3/11) early morning WIB, and the Portuguese player took the time to tease the home team’s ultras.

This result could be crucial, because United now sit at the top of Group F and only need three points to qualify for the knockout stages.

United’s two goals were Ronaldo’s fifth and sixth goals against Atalanta, having faced the Bergamo side seven times in his career.

At the end of the first half, Ronaldo equaled Josip Illicic’s opener in the 12th minute, but Duvan Zapata again put Gian Piero Gasperini’s side ahead thanks to errors from Eric Bailly and Harry Maguire in the second half.

The goal would have saddened United’s third defeat in the last five games, had Ronaldo not saved Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s face again in the 90+1 minute.

Usili ultras Atalanta

The home fans gave United an unbelievably loud welcome, an atmosphere Ronaldo knows well after spending three years in Italy with Juventus.

After scoring another vital goal, Ronaldo couldn’t seem to stop himself from teasing the Atalanta ultras.

As he walked off the pitch, Ronaldo was seen waving and kissing the fans sitting in the ultras section of Gewiss Stadium.

What did Ronaldo say?

“A difficult game. I know, against Atalanta [selalu] difficult,” Ronaldo told BT Sport after the fight.

“We believed until the end that I would help my team get the three points and I am very happy. We never gave up and believed until the end. I think this is a good result for us.”

Ronaldo also demands that his colleagues improve themselves, especially with the Manchester derby against Manchester City in sight, Saturday (6/11).

“It was tough at first, Atalanta were coached by a fantastic manager and they knew what to do. I knew that when I was at Juventus,” he added.

“We did a good job. We were lucky I scored but that’s football. We still have to improve. We have different players and different systems. We have to adapt but it takes time. We have time to improve.”
