PSS Sleman’s positive trend of winning three consecutive matches had to stop at the hands of Persib Bandung. PSS defeated Persib at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium (GBLA), Sunday (5/2/2023) in matchday 22 of League 1 2022-2023. Final score, PSS gave up 0-2, through two goals from Ciro Alves in 27′ and 40′ minutes
PSS Sleman coach Seto Nurdiantoro appreciated the performance of his players. His foster children seem to have the motivation to beat Persib. However, Marckho Sandy et al were a little carried away by emotions in the first half to commit detrimental violations, this condition damaged the mentality of the players.
“I think the course of the match, the first thing I appreciate is the performance of the players, they have their own motivation, they want to play better, win the game, but the results are also not optimal and (the situation) from the start maybe, there is a little damage to our mentality,” said Seto.
“But this is a lesson, but the hope is that in this way the mentality of our players will be better, able to manage all situations,” said Seto.
In the second half, Seto carried out a counter strategy by inserting more attacking players from Saddam Gaffar and Ricky Cawor in order to catch up with two goals. A number of opportunities were created however, the Javanese Eagle team was unable to score a goal.
“In the second half, we tried to change the counter strategy but yes there were some developments, there were moments to score but unfortunately we couldn’t score,” Seto regretted.
