Cairo – Masrawy:

Osama Hosni, a former Al-Ahly player and a member of the Al-Ahly channel analysis team, said that they are waiting for a response from the five-year committee that runs the Football Association regarding the use of the father of the French translator, Patrice Carteron, the coach of Zamalek, as an accompaniment for the referees’ crew.

The Referees Committee of the Egyptian Football Association announced earlier that a Croatian referee team would manage the Zamalek and Al-Ahly match in the 21st round of the Premier League competition.

The match is scheduled to be directed by Croatian referee Ivan Bebek, assisted by Goran Gataki, Iveka Modric, and fourth referee Fran Jovic, while Goran Gabrielo’s video referee and video referee, Tomislav Petrovic, will be present.

Osama Hosni said on the Al-Ahly club channel, “Mr. Shaaban Bastawi, the public relations official in the Football Association, is the escort for the Croatian referee staff who is scheduled to manage the summit match.”

He added, “He is responsible for all their movements and will pay their dues from the Football Association, estimated at 40 thousand dollars.”

He continued, “Hajj Shaaban Bastawi is the father of Captain Ahmed Shaaban, and he works in the coaching staff of Zamalek as a translator for French coach Carteron.”

He concluded, “We only want clarification and a response from the Five-Year Committee on the situation. There should have been an investigation of accuracy in order to prevent embarrassment and gossip. On a personal level, I know Hajj Shaaban Bastawi, who is a respectable man.”
