After the necessary audition rounds, the semi-finals of We Want More can be seen on SBS6 tonight. Mooi Wark managed to make it to the semi-finals of the talent show, although participation did depend on a thread. Frontman Bert Koops revealed he had a tia in early April.

“I was mowing in the evening, when I became dizzy and the sight in my right eye suddenly decreased”, the resident of Schoonoord looks back. The singer and guitarist of Mooi Wark immediately had the idea that it was not quite right. “The next day I went straight to the doctor, who said I had a small tia behind my eye.”
Operation
After the visit to the doctor, he had to go to the hospital for examinations, where it was found that his carotid artery was fifty percent closed. He has now been operated on so that the blood flow to his brain runs smoothly again. “We Drents are a level-headed people, but this was a bit of a shock. I didn’t feel very well the days before this happened, but this does explain some things,” says Koops, who is also a diabetic.
Because the tia was on the small side, Koops recovered well. “Now it is going very well again”, he says in the RTV Drenthe radio program De dag van Drenthe. This allowed Mooi Wark to fully focus on the semi-finals of We Want More.
Final place We Want More?
From 8.30 pm on SBS6 you can see how Koops and his band members are doing. From opera to fado, from gospel to pop and from jazz to reggae: all musical styles are featured in the talent show.
It goes without saying that Koops does not want to change how that semifinal went. However, he can say that Mooi Wark has chosen to take a shot at a final place with the song Warkende Helden. “Of course, everyone should also have a look,” says Koops with a laugh. “But I can already say that it was a fantastic beautiful experience.”
