The two guys who beat the photographer were given a preventive measure: one was arrested, the other was under house arrest.
The Pechersky Court of Kiev on Wednesday, August 18, chose a measure of restraint for two men who are suspected of beating a photojournalist during a rally near the President’s Office last week, reports Today.
It is noted that one of the attackers, Nikita Gubsky, was sent to jail until October 16, and another person involved, Anton Goloshchapov, was assigned house arrest until October 15. At the same time, the lawyer of the 18-year-old defendant said that the decision was illegal.
Gubsky did not answer the journalists’ questions, but only said that he was sorry and admitted guilt.
The court heard the case of the second defendant in the attack on the journalist, but due to the fact that he is a minor, the judge asked the media to leave the hall.
It is noted that Anton Goloshchapov was only 17 years old in January. He is a native of Lviv. Recently I was going to apply for admission to the university.
The court sent Goloshchapov under house arrest until October 15, and also appointed an electronic bracelet.
Let’s remind, on Saturday, August 14, two people beat the journalist Online Edition Letters during the action under the President’s Office. The attackers filmed everything that was happening and subsequently released a video of the attack. Later it became known that the police reported suspicion to the attackers.
