SANTA CLARA, Calif.-The Santa Clara University women’s beach volleyball team has elevated Lance Muret from Volunteer Assistant Coach to Assistant Coach, effective for the 2025-26 season. Head Coach Jeff Alzina announced the promotion, highlighting Muret’s instrumental role in the team’s recent success.

Muret’s Background and Experience
A San Diego native, Muret’s volleyball journey began at La Costa Canyon high School, where he secured an indoor volleyball CIF championship and was named CIF Libero of the year.He also led his beach volleyball team to top seeding for four years, winning two championships and an individual pairs title.
Continuing his athletic pursuits,Muret played indoor club volleyball at UC San Diego,earning a B.A. in International Business. He has four years of coaching experience with WAVE Beach and remains an active competitor in high-level beach volleyball tournaments, recently winning the King of Spring event in Encinitas.
