“There is still no treatment, neither in Mexico, nor in the world that has definitely contributed to reducing mortality, hospitalization time or the intensity of symptoms, there is not, unfortunately, there is not,” he said.
The Undersecretary of Health highlighted that dexamethasone is a drug that was evaluated in a first clinical trial and it is appreciated, according to scientific evidence, that it is promising that it could contribute to reducing it in critically ill people, not in mild cases.
“Do not encourage the idea of going to the pharmacy to find dexamethasone for anyone who has mild symptoms, do not do it, because dexamethasone has very important side effects,” he added.
