If you pay attention to issuers who have announced that they will distribute dividends in the High Dividend 20 index, it can be seen that there has been a decrease in the nominal dividend and dividend yield in the 2020 financial year. This also happens to issuers that have not announced dividend distribution, but are assumed to be distributing dividends with the same payout ratio. like the 2019 book year.

For example, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) which has a plan to distribute a final dividend of Rp. 114 in the 2020 financial year. In October 2020, ASII has paid a portion or an interim dividend of Rp. 27.

With the assumption of the final dividend and the closing price on Thursday (8/4) of Rp 5,300, ASII’s dividend yield is 2.15%.

As a comparison, in the 2019 financial year ASII distributed a final dividend of IDR 21420. The dividend yield was recorded at 4.63% from the cum date price of IDR 4,620.

Precisely what shows the opportunity to distribute a greater dividend value is PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (INDF). This issuer distributes dividends of Rp 278 per share in the 2019 financial year, with a dividend payout ratio of 49.73%.
