For example, a motorist on the Goringdijk in Gees (Drenthe) fell off the road and hit a tree head-on. There appeared to be fog. According to a news photographer on the spot, the driver would have been taken to hospital.
Visibility in Drenthe is 122 meters, according to Buienradar. That was measured at 7 p.m. Elsewhere in the country it is less foggy, but there is also fog in Friesland, on the Wadden, in Flevoland, in Groningen and in parts of Overijssel and Gelderland.
Code yellow
The KNMI has issued code yellow for ‘northeast of the Den Helder-Winterswijk line’ in the aforementioned provinces. There are also fog banks in the west, such as in Zeeland, although visibility is significantly better there than in the northeast of our country.
